Long Island beachfront communities in Sarfk area are concerned about dozens of dead birds that rise on the shore and found in the backyard, especially because the staff believe that the birds died from bird flu.

Patchogue Shores in East Patchogue has a private beach. At the beginning of last week, Tim Jones, the vice president of their association, was walking along the beach with his family when he noticed many dead birds.

“I saw the three seagulls, the birds, and I counted 11 ducks,” Jones explained.

The NBC Wi York walked with him and saw a dead gull that died in the water and other small birds that were crashed along a small sand.

Jones contacted the Department of Environmental Conservation. December said that it seemed to be a bird flu because of the cases in the Saffalk and Nas Seo County. Officials from the department encourage the community to close the beach to avoid contacting the dead birds.

While passing the birds to humans is very low But the bird flu can spread directly by touching through saliva, secretions and feces. It can also spread through the air virus particles and the consumption of raw and milk.

At the beginning of the month, the bird flu at Crescent Duck Farm in Aquebogue, the owner of the farm was forced to get rid of nearly 100,000 ducks.

The residents in the Patchogue Shores are far from the beach. Hope the problem will be resolved when the weather is warmer.
