Bethesda Softworks has finally announced what everyone has been buzzing about for weeks – The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered. Developed with Virtuos, the remaster features overhauled visuals made possible with Unreal Engine 5.
The character models, environments and other assets have been rebuilt from scratch. A new real-time lighting system allows for full dynamic shadows Cyrodiil, while the new lip-synching tech meshes well with the brand-new dialogue. Of course, there are also numerous quality-of-life improvements, from hit reactions in combat and an improved third-person perspective to sprinting and levelling changes.
The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered is out now on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S for $49.99. You can also play it on Game Pass for PC, consoles, and the cloud, but here’s what you should know before diving in.
